Chado is studied with a teacher during practice sessions that are called okeiko. In okeiko, one student performs a tea ceremony procedure as host while other students take on the guest role and share a bowl of tea. The teacher corrects the movements of both host and guests, which are codified, and gives explanation during the practice session.
Any person who wishes to learn Urasenke tea ceremony, regardless of background, age, race, etc. is welcome to join a practice group. The only requirements are a sincere intention to study and an attitude of respect. For lessons, contact a teacher individually. Lesson schedules, fees and conditions are to be discussed directly with the teacher. Due to historical reasons, Urasenke Belgium also has a chapter in Eindhoven, The Netherlands and in Paris, France.
